Just a little cuteness... :)

Crawling! Almost...

Ready to go!

I don't think I like it!

Well...maybe it's not so bad...

I think I'll just play with my toys.

Ben is really working on crawling. He can get around really well on his belly if he on the wood. He is even able to get around just in the last couple days on the carpet too. He sometimes thinks about pulling his legs under him into a "normal" crawl stance, but I wonder if he just scoot along on his belly since at our new house we have concrete and hardwood floors? I guess we'll see!

Setting Up Ben's Crib

Granpa Doug set up Ben's crib. He also hung doors, set up our dresser and nightstand and hung shelving in our closet, Ben's closet and the laundry room. Granma supervised! But really she watched Ben a lot for me so I could start moving stuff in which was so helpful!
Who has the best parents ever??? I do! I do! :)

Ben trying out his new bed! He is still sleeping next to our bed in his cosleeper. He is almost as long as it so his new bed is coming at a perfect time!

Ben's Dedication at Church

The Grands - Great Grandparents Don and Loma, Granpa Doug, Granma Cathie, Grandma Debbie and Karmen who is pretty much Ben's grandma too!

It was so nice for Ben to have 4 generations at his dedication!

The boys...Jim would have been there except he was on his rotation for the slope,

Our happy "little" family!

Ben was dedicated at church on July 20th. We scheduled it then so my parents could be here. Pastor Keith performed the ceremony and Ben was very good. I was a little apprehensive that he would freak out when the Pastor held him but he did just fine. At the end during the prayer Ben was pulling on the Pastor's goatee and his microphone on his shirt. It was pretty cute! Ben wore his "Island Outfit" from the Bitter's - he looked so cute!

The beach at the end of the Spit. Right behind our hotel!

It was chilly and pretty windy, but no rain! Thanks goodness because it would have been really cold and miserable!

Update...

Well it's been awhile since I last blogged...

My parents just left last night - they were here visiting for 2 weeks! We had a lot of fun but it would have been more fun if it had actually been sunny at least once! We went to Homer on an overnight trip and it was, by some miracle of God, sunny while we were there. It was beautiful especially in the morning when the air was so crisp and clean feeling. We stayed at Land's End Resort which was right on the beach (for all of you who have never been to Alaska this is not a beach you swim at...it's cold water and we walked the beach in sweatshirts!). We saw Bald Eagles on the beach and flying around Homer. We ate at a really great restaurant Fat Olives where I got 2 desserts! Thanks Dad :) My dad hung doors at our house and put together Ben's crib and our dresser and nightstand. Yay! My mom helped a lot with Ben and did the dishes (I hate doing dishes!). It was nice having help because I pretty much feel like a single parent since Brent works all day and then comes home at night and works on the house. When I feel like it's a lot to handle I just think of Jon and Kate Plus 8....yikes! Even though we didn't do everything we wanted I still had a good time! Thanks for coming out Mom and Dad! :) Miss you already...

Ben Update:
We took Ben for his 9 month checkup this past Tuesday. He weighs 21 lbs 6 oz and is 29 1/2 inches tall. He shot up from the 50th percentile in height at 6 months to the 90th! I guess I know all the food he has been eating is going to good use! Everything else went well and we go back when he's a year.
He is getting really close to crawling and can actually crawl with his front half. He just hasn't gotten the back end working yet. If I put him on the wood floor he pushes himself backwards and moves around pretty fast. In the last week or so he has also decided he really likes to stand and walk with someone holding onto him. It won't be too much longer before he's really on the move! He has also learned to "kiss" by sucking his lips in and making a sucking noise. It's super cute and I'm still trying to get it on video...
We went to Pizza Man with my parents on Wednesday night and there was a little girl baby sitting across from us. At one point she and Ben started squealing and talking back and forth...it was the cutest thing ever! It went on for a good 15-20 minutes or so. We had to give Ben his pacifier eventually though because he was getting very loud!

House Update:
We are moving stuff in!!! Yay! Not long now. My dad hung all the doors except for the ones that Home Depot ordered wrong. Brent has been doing all sorts of random things to get stuff finished up. Our kitchen cabinets, appliances and most of our lighting fixtures are being delivered on Saturday. I cleaned the upstairs as best I could and have been moving in random things. I thought it would be easier, especially with Ben, to move a load or two a day...
I'm so excited to finally be moving in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be posting more pictures soon :)

Helping Momma fold laundry

Playing with Papa's socks!

Perfecting his folding skills...

Notice his super cute shirt that says "I still live with my parents" from his Auntie Rosie. They didn't have one in Brent's size - LOL!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Red, White and Blue Baby Ben

Who took my sock off???

Who? Who?

Oh it was me! Hehe!

Happy 4th of July! We don't have any exciting plans for today. Brent is working on the house and Ben and I are hanging out. We won't be going to any fireworks shows this year...Ben is too young and probably wouldn't like the noise. Plus all the shows are around midnight because it doesn't get fully dark out! Tomorrow we are going to our friends Colin and Jontie's house for a BBQ. They have 2 boys Jack (4) and Brady (6 months), so they can all play!
