Ben and His Ladies...

Ben and Ellie (she did such a good job holding him while he cried!)

Mallory and Ben (at least one baby has to be crying in all pictures, right?)

It's the age old question all men face at some point in their lives: go with the older, more experienced woman or the younger and more free spirited girl??? LOL!
Ellie is the daughter of our friends Summer and Andrew and Mallory is the daughter of our friends Cassandra and Jeff. It's so fun having friends that have children too. Ben will have so many instant friends to grow up with!

Granpa...

My Granpa Getter and my sister Rosie - December 2006

Granpa, Me and Rosie - December 2006

This is my Granpa Getter... he passed away on January 25th, 2008. I have been trying to find these pictures as they are the most current I have with him, so that is why this posting is so late. We went to New Jersey to visit and these pictures were taken at Charlie Brown's, one of the resturants he really liked.
He was a gruff, tough kind of guy but was very sweet to me. When I would call him long distance he would always be concerned that I was "spending my money" calling him. When I got pregnant with Ben he bought us our crib and changing table because he knew my Granma (who passed away in May 2003) would have wanted us to have something really nice. He always called me his "favorite oldest granddaughter" - because of course I am the oldest granddaughter! And his best piece of advice that has stuck with me: "If you eat broccoli for 100 years you will live a long time." :)
I know he would have loved to meet his first great grandchild and also would have loved to visit us in Alaska... but I know he's happier with my Granma and together they can watch over us.
We love you Granpa!!!

Ben's New Babysitter...

Benjamin and Denali

Denali loves to check out Ben and Ben loves to watch Denali. I wonder if she will love him as much when he is chasing her around trying to pull her tail and ears???

Doing a little reading...

Ben loves his baby animals book from Auntie Brittany!

He is also a big fan of his Dr. Suess book from Miss Marla!

Ben is really getting into reading books now. He loves to look at the pictures and of course always tries to grab the book and eat it! We read books after naptimes, before bed and when he is on his tummy.

Sittin'

I can sit unassisted for about 15-30 seconds! Yay!

Guess I don't like it as much as I thought I did...

Yup - really don't like it!

Benjamin and his Grandma Debbie

This is a little outfit that Debbie has had since Brent and Brittany were babies. It's just a touch too big for him now so it probably won't fit next winter... we had to put him in it and take pictures!

Ben and his Great Grandma Dee

Helping Great Grandma Dee with her crosswords...

My Grandpa Dee sent this picture to me. My Grandpa and Grandma in Arizona have never met Benjamin but it looks like he gets to "hangout" with them all the time! How sweet :)

Haley Elizabeth

Our friends, Christy and Jeff, have been blessed with a little miracle...

Haley Elizabeth arrived into this world on Monday, February 25th at 4:45pm. She weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz and was 17 inches long. Her daddy thinks she is extra special because she was born on his birthday!

Blond hair, blue eyed beauty!

The new family...

4 Months Old

Our sweet, chubby boy...

Yup - wearin' my shirt on my head!

Ben turned 4 months old yesterday. He is getting so big!!! He rolled over from his tummy to his back a couple weeks ago but hasn't really done it since. He must of not been too impressed with that trick...
He is also starting to lift his upper body up when you go to pick him up. He can sit unassisted for a few seconds on occasion too. He is so much fun, always babbling about something and super quick to break into his gummy grin to anyone.
The big question is - what color will his eyes be??? :)
Our house is really looking like a home inside. The interior walls upstairs have been sheetrocked. It's fun to walk around and think about where I will put things. I now have to decide on paint colors for walls...it's hard because I'm not much of a decorator! But it's still fun.
Life with Ben keeps getting better. I feel like I really have a grip on motherhood at the moment. I can get a lot done and still spend a ton of time with him. He has really started being content to play on his own for periods of time so that makes it easier to do things as well.
Our video software is acting up so I will get videos up as soon as I fix it...
